It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Davis who left us on August 24, 2025 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah at the age of 54. He was a beloved father, brother, cherished family member and dear friend to many.
Born on April 18, 1971 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tony moved around frequently in his childhood as part of a military family. He graduated from Effingham County High School and continued his education earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia Southern University. Tony lived a life dedicated to his daughter and also to his work with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department where he started working as a Baliff and eventually worked his way up to Primary Deputy in the courtroom of the Honorable Judge Louisa Abott. He had a profound impact on everyone he met and he was known for his kindness and humor. In his spare time, Tony enjoyed watching sports on television. His favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Florida State Seminoles. His parents, George Washington Davis and Linda Sharon Cater Davis and his sister, Sharon Paul, all preceded him in death.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Kirsten Davis of South Carolina and three siblings, Alison Simmons of Fleming, Georgia, David Williams of Warner Robbins, Georgia and Debbie England of Seattle, Washington. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
