Alvin L. Roberson, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness.
Alvin was born on April 1, 1932 in Hortense to the late, Albert and Allie Fay Strickland Roberson. He spent his formative years in Waycross before being drafted into the United States Army where he served his country in Germany and Austria. He was a longtime member of Satilla Baptist Church and when he wasn’t working, Alvin enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working on things around the house, “tinkering,” as he would say.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Gloria Davis Roberson; his two sons, Michael L. Roberson and Albert P. Roberson and two sisters, Loretta Moody and Hazle Jacobs, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his two sons, Charles Roberson and wife, Angie of Landis, North Carolina and Joseph Roberson of Jesup and three grandchildren, Justin Roberson, Jessica Sapp and Cody Roberson. Several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
