Obituary

Albert Gregory Weeks, a vibrant soul who graced this world with his presence, peacefully transitioned on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the Altamaha Healthcare Center in Jesup, Georgia, surrounded by the compassionate care of Hospice of South Georgia.

Born on October 7, 1961, in the heart of Jacksonville, Florida, Albert embodied a deep connection to the natural world and a profound appreciation for life's beauty. A resident of Jesup for the past few years, Albert's journey was marked by his love for nature and his skilled work as a masterful landscaper. His meticulous attention to detail and innate ability to discern and nurture various plants showcased his unique expertise in creating breathtaking environments.

Albert's spiritual foundation was rooted in his enduring commitment as a communicant of San Jose Catholic Church, where he found solace and a sense of community. Beyond his professional pursuits, Albert's heart was drawn to the serenity of camping and the majestic allure of the ocean. His unwavering affinity for the shoreline was a testament to his free-spirited nature, and he cherished moments spent by the water's edge.

Albert's gentle and affable demeanor was a source of joy to those fortunate enough to know him. He possessed a natural gift for culinary artistry, transforming meals into delightful experiences that he shared with friends and family. His love for people was matched only by his passion for creating flavors that danced on the taste buds and lingered in cherished memories.

Albert's legacy is carried forward by his son, Greg Findlay, and his wife Linda of Hampstead, North Carolina, as well as his daughter, Sara Findlay, residing in the enchanting city of Asheville, North Carolina. In addition, Albert is survived by two loving sisters, Frances Reilly of Jacksonville, Florida, and Claudia Germano of Puerto Rico, along with cherished grandchildren - Amelia Findlay, John Calhoun Sterritt V, and Dinah Findlay. His extended family, including step-sister Bonnie Fleming of Halifax, North Carolina, joins in preserving his memory.

Albert's journey is preceded in passing by his parents, Ralph Richard Weeks, Jr., and Marilyn Gilmer Weeks, and his brother, Ralph Richard Weeks III. The impact of his life and the indelible memories he created will forever remain a part of the tapestry of those who knew and loved him.

As we celebrate the life of Albert Gregory Weeks, let us remember the way he embraced the world around him and shared his unique talents, passions, and warmth with all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
