Gerry Tobias Obituary
Gerry Nichole Tobias, beloved sister, aunt and very good friend to many, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 19, 2013 at home.
Gerry was born on June 25, 1951 in Jesup. She was a retired Registered Nurse and Computer Programmer who enjoyed collecting fine art. Gerry loved walking the neighborhood, the nature trail and the road to NOWHERE and was well rounded in all cultures as well as religion. Her mother, Lillian Lucille Browning, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her father, W. H. Browning (Gladys) of Yulee, Florida; sisters, Joann Clark of Screven, GA, Betty Jean Lewis (Glenn) of Townsend, GA, Debbie Ellis (William) of Dalton, GA and Deidra Browning of Screven, GA and brothers, Johnny Browning of Screven, GA and Bobby Browning (Danette) of Odum, GA. Fourteen nieces and nephews, seventeen great nieces and nephews and her two loving companions Butter and Bam Bam also survive.
A memorial service to celebrate Gerry’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013 in the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel of Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Reverend Gabe Gill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Virginia Chapter in honor of Lucas Allen, 1500 Forest Ave., Suite 124, Richmond, VA 23229.
Gerry, or EEOU (Eternal Empress of the Universe) as she was known, will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and will always be remembered for her expertise on any subject and her outgoing, larger than life personality.
