Ricky Lee Griffis, 63, of Glennville, passed away  Monday, November 18, 2019 surrounded by his loving family under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice.

The Wayne County native was born October13, 1956 to Hazel C. Bullock of Screven and the late Joseph C. Griffis.  A skilled cabinet maker and installer, Ricky loved to fish in his spare time from creek to ocean and everywhere in between.  He loved the Lord and worshipped at Glennville Church of God.  Ricky loved spending time with family more than anything, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Judy Wells Griffis, two brothers, Jim Albritton and Carter Bullock, and a niece Dara Jo Wasdin.

In addition to his mother,  survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Starlet Griffis;  children, Joseph Griffis, Cody Griffis, Danielle Folker and husband, Joey, Amber O’Neal and Ashley Pearson, all of Glennville, six grandchildren, Landon, Trinity, Levi, Jentry, Jaden and River, two sisters, Pam Wasdin and husband, Darrell of Screven and Judy Griffis of Jesup, one brother, Tony Griffis and wife, Debbie of Odum.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive..

A celebration of life will be held at noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Nelson officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

 Private Interment will follow at Jesup City Cemetery.
