Justina Westberry Obituary

Justina Harper Westberry, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Memorial Health University in Savannah after a lengthy illness.

Justina was born on August 5, 1931 in Wayne County to the late Mal J. and Carrie Rose Sharpe Harper.  She worked for many years in the business office at Wayne Memorial Hospital before marrying her late husband, Alexander Jackson Westberry.  The couple moved around frequently to various appointments around the country while serving in the military.  Their adventurous spirit led them to continue the travels even after retirement and they grew to love camping in their recreational vehicle.  Justina was a longtime member of Jesup Presbyterian Church where she had been a deacon for many years and was currently serving as Moderator of the Jesup Presbyterian Women and had served as the Area 3 Representative for the Coordinating Team of Presbyterian Women of Savannah Presbytery. In her spare time she enjoyed bird watching, sewing, crafts and puzzles of all kinds.

In addition to her parents and her husband, her sister, Nell Tyre and brother Mal Harper preceded her in death.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Sharon Brown and Andy and Morgan Westberry all of Jesup; grandchildren, Tracy Theriault and husband, Chris and Amy Ellis and husband, Steven great grandchildren, Jessica and Madison Aspinwall both of Odum and Kyle and Zach Ellis both of Screven; brother, Elwood Harper of Jesup and special friend Bobbie Scott.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Jesup Presbyterian Church with Reverend Pete Ullmann officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jesup Presbyterian Women.

Interment services will be held privately at a later date in Gardi Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Jesup Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 830, Jesup, GA 31598.
