Inez Blanton Todd

Inez Blanton Todd, 78, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, Inez was born on August 26, 1940 to the late Walter and Willie Hartley Blanton.  She devoted herself to caring for her family and was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed fishing, crocheting and knitting.  She attended church regularly at Turning Point Worship Center and loved spending time with her beloved Grandchildren more than anything. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, John D. Todd, son, James Edward Todd; brother, Lowell Blanton and sister, Ruby Nell Chambless, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Takaki and husband, Glenn, Diana Burke and husband, John, Melvin Todd and wife, Mary Ann, Charles Todd and Eddi Todd all of Jesup; three brothers, Junior Blanton of Brunswick, John D. Blanton of Baxley and James “Jim” Blanton of Augusta; one sister, Jean Manning of Jesup; twelve grandchildren, Tammy and husband, Greg, Terrie and husband, Troy, Jessica and husband, Jordan, Katelen, Josh, Cory, Eric, Nikki, John, Lacy, Tonya and Tiffany and twelve great grandchildren.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Turning Point Worship Center with Pastor Justin Mitchell officiating.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.

Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Alvin Dixon, A.J. Dixon, Chris Crocker, Greg Potts, Troy Mercer and James Anderson.  Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Gloria Home Care.
