Dorothy “Dot” Harris Westberry, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2019 at home surrounded by her family.
A native of Appling County, Dot was born on July 29, 1941 to the late James Julian and Effie Sikes Harris. She was a member of Faith Chapel Southern Congregational Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, arts and crafts, collecting butterflies and arranging flowers. Her favorite pastime of all was spending time with her beloved family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Sisco; two brothers, Robert Harris and Phillip Wayne Harris and three sisters, Mary Ruth Ivey, Leccy Kaye Nails and Betty Jean Maske.
Survivors include her children, Peggy Lynn and husband, Elton, Tony Westberry and wife, Joan, Andy Westberry and wife, Tammy and Maxine Baker all of Jesup; brothers and sisters, Patricia Ann Darsey and husband, Bennie of Jesup, William David Harris and wife, Carolyn of Screven and Terry Dale Harris and wife, Sandra of Jesup. Thirteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Reverend James Carter officiating.
Interment will follow in Ritch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Robbie Sapp, Matt Fail, Brian Belcher, Jim Smith, Eddie Wheatley, Jay Harris, Mike Dixon and Corey Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons.
