Domingo Deida Rosario

Domingo Deida Rosario, 69, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Mingo,” passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at Memorial Health University in Savannah after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

A resident of Jesup, Georgia for nearly three years, Mingo was born on February 26, 1950 in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico to the late Antonio Deida and Rosa Rosario.  He was owner and operator of La Bodequita de penūelas, a local convenience store and supermarket for eleven years.  Mingo enjoyed watching westerns in his spare time.  Bonanza was his favorite.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-two years, Iris Yambo of Jesup, GA; eight children, Elba Martinez of Jesup, Alexis Deida of Jesup, Rosalyn Deida and husband, Juan Irizarry of Pennsylvania, Anthony Martinez and wife Yadira Martinez of Massachusetts, Ivan Deida of Illinois, Ermelinda Deida of New York, Antonio Deida of Puerto Rico, Domingo Deida of Pennsylvania, Efrain Diñero of Pennsylvania and Jay “Blade” Rivera and wife, Zulayma Figueroa of New York and eight brothers and sisters, Andrea, Christobal, Felix, Armelgo, Ishmael, Catalino, Dernaldo and Sixto.  A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and extended family members also survive.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

Memorial services will be held privately at a later date.
