Collice Franklin Brannen, Jr.

Collice Franklin Brannen, Jr., affectionately known by his family and friends as “C.F.” passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Memorial Health University in Savannah at the age of 66 surrounded by his loving family.

A native and lifelong resident of Jesup, C.F. was born on July 26, 1952 to the late Opal and Collice Franklin Brannen, Sr.  He was a graduate of Wayne County High School Class of 1972 and was a lifelong member of Jesup First Baptist Church.  C.F. was a builder by nature.  His talent for creating things was evident in his professional life as he operated Brannen and Sons Construction Company for many years.  In his spare time he used talent of building for projects around the house and he always adored spending time with his beloved family.  C.F. loved his community and believed in giving back through numerous organizations including the Jesup Jaycees, The Jesup Elks Lodge#2133 and the Wayne County Touchdown Club. 

In addition to his parents, his son, Collice Franklin Brannen, III “Trey” and sister, Dyan Waldhour all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of forty- two years, Wanda Brannen; son, Ashby Brannen; granddaughter, Zarria Brannen and sisters, Colleen Ivey and Kathy Drury all of Jesup.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Jesup First Baptist Church with Dr. Michael VonMoss and Rev. David Simmons officiating.    

Interment services will be held privately at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Dickie Waters officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Drury, Pastor Dickie Waters, Jake Waters, Jess Lastinger, Timmy Blanton and Will Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wayne County High School Class of 1972.
