Barbara Lynn Brogdon
Barbara Lynn Brogdon, 49, passed away suddenly Saturday, January 4, 2020 at home.
A resident of Jesup for the past sixteen years and a former resident of McIntosh County for over twenty-five years, Barbara was born on September 12, 1970 in Fort Pierce, Florida. She was a 1988 graduate of McIntosh County High School. Barbara was highly motivated and had worked several jobs throughout her high school career including positions with attorney, Samuel J. Oliver, her family restaurant, Mama’s and Papa’s and the local framing gallery. She soon married her high school sweetheart and the two started a family. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who put the needs of her family before her own at all times. Later in life, her love of children led her into a new career path where she worked as a paraprofessional with Special Needs Children at James E. Bacon Elementary School. In fact, she was currently in the process of becoming a teacher by attending classes at Western Governor’s University in pursuit of a degree. The children she was involved with truly felt the love she gave and in return, they loved Barbara dearly. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, decorating and searching for treasures she could buy and fix up. She loved embroidery, animals, the Florida Gators, the Lord Jesus Christ and had attended church at Victory Tabernacle.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Kurt Brogdon of Jesup; four children, Stefani Maegan Brogdon and fiancé, Evan of Darien, Devan Patrick Brogdon of Jesup, Garrett Seth Brogdon and fiancé, Kennedy of Jesup and Kailee Malone Brogdon of Jesup; father, William Lee Moore and wife, Mary Jane of Claxton; mother, Janice Wheeler Amerson of Darien; brother, William Amerson and wife, Natalie of Darien; sister, Rebecca Bradley and husband, James of Midway and grandchildren, Bryce, Brilynn, Aubrey and Ryland.
